NEW HOSPITAL
FORMER MEMBER'S VIEW LETTER SENT FROM ITALY "I received some newspapers and was interested in the opposition to the new hospital," said a letter icceived from Lieutenant M. A. Brooks, by the Thames Hospital Board at its meeting on Tuesday. Lieutenant Book, now serving in Italy, was when in Coromandel, a member of the. board, vacating his seat at the time of the last election. "After ray observations of poverty, filth and endemic disease m Italy, I shall always think raonef no object (in reason) to provide adequate hospital facilities. "[ notice that, my term ended on May 27 and take this opportunity of expressing to the chairman, members and office staff my appreciation of the courtesy always extended to me," the letter continued. "I enjoyed very much my work on the board and regret only that my patriotic duty shortened my term.' Lieutenant Brook also extended thanks for the good wishes extended him in his recent illness and stated that he was now second in charge, records section, Second Echelon.
