.—4» ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Whakatane Crocuct Club was held on Wednesday afternoon June 21. there being a good attendance of members. Mrs Creeke presided. The minutes of the last annual meeting were <read and confirmed and the balance sheet was adopted. The president in pre eating her report U'-gecl present members t> encourage new members an 1 instf'ii t them in the art of the game. She also wished to place on record the thanks of the club to Mr Houriga.i for care and attention to lawns. In conclusion she than iced ail members for the loyal support accorded her and also thanked the secretary for work done during her term of office. The election of officers was as follows:— President: Mrs Creeke (re-elected) V'.ce-pre>ident: Mrs Mu'.holiand. Secretary: Mrs Burgess (re-elect-ed). Committee: Mesdames King, Comer, Shaw. Woo'liams. Baxter. Hell3*ar and Healy. Tea Lady: Mrs Burgess. Ilandieapperi: (lomer and Heilyar. Green (Jommittee-. lle-dame'i King. Shaw and Comer. Draw Commit tee: Mesdames Shaw anil Wooliiams. It was decided to commence ladder matches and competitions early in the season. Subscriptions were to be the same as last season, honorary members' subscriptions being ss. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring committee. A bunch of beautiful spring -flowers was presented to Mrs Creeke by Mrs Shaw, and a bunch of lovely poppies was presented to Mrs Burgess by Mrs Sutherland.
