CONGRATULATIONS TO OTAKIRI

WHEN a district the size of Otakiri with its limited popun lation can find the time and make the effort to raise by means of'sports meeting and attendant competitions a sum approximating the foujufigure mark, it has certainly set an example to other settlements which have been labouring under financial difficulties for years, and yet have failed to make that very obvious move of helping themselves. Our warmest' congratulations go to Otakiri, which has now acquired its own district hall, and has sufficient in hand to set about improvements which will, it is honed establish it for many years as the district's Soldier's Memorial.
