SHAG IN SOUTH CANTERBURY BIRDS FROM THE ISLANDS A iicav species, of shag has been reported in South said Mr J. Stevens at a recent meeting of the South Canterbury Acclimatisation Society at Tc muka. Mr Stevens said that, from the description given by persons: Avho brought the heads to him to receiA T e the bounty, the shags Avcrc smaller than the usual black shag and CAddently belong to a different species.. It Avas possible that the birds had come from some of the Pacific Islands.
