THAMES MAN'S PART FLEET AIR ARM PILOT Many Thames residents avc re recently interested to see a photograph of Sub-Lieutenant Andrew McLennan, of that toAvn, in a group of Fleet Air Arm pilots Avho took part in the attack on the German battleship Tirpitz as she lay at anchorage in a Norwegian fiord. Sub-Lieutenant McLennan, Avho is 24, is the son of Mrs N. McLennan, of Augustus Street, Pannvai, and attended the Thames High School. He went, away three and a half years ago, and had originally intended to join the Air Force, but transferred to the Fleet Air Arm. His mother has not so far received Avord from him on his part in the Tirpitz attack, but is not surprised, as he neA'er tells them anything of his operational experiences:. NavA r : Graham, avlio recently arrived in England and is. in the Air Force; and Norman, who Avas reported drowned Avhile a prisoner of Avar on March 6, 1942. The brothers have never met Avhile on overseas service, but when.
