« FOOTBALL COMPETITION OPENS DRAW FOR SATURDAY The opening of the football competition on Saturday heralds yet another season of Rugby in the Bay. With one or two minor alterations, the teams should be much the same as last, year although the. new ruling for Junior players will necessitate some who played Junior lasti year transferring to the Seniors this year. Taking it all round, the coming season promises to be equally as good if not better than the last one. The following is the football draw for Saturday, 20th June:— Seniors: Waimana v Taneatua at Taneatua. (Referee, Mr Rawson). Juniors: Taneatua v Waimana at Waimana. (Referee Mr V. Miller). Poroporo v Whakatane at Whakatanc. (Refefree, Mr J. Whitehead) . RANGITAIKI RUGBY UNION DRAW FOR FIRST ROUND The following is the draw for the first round of Rugby matches to be played under the auspices of the Rangitaiki Rugby Union: — Seniors May 20: Otakiri v Edgecumbe; Thornton v Mataliina; Te Teko a by.pi. May 27: Te Teko v Otakiri; Edgecumbe v Thornfon; Matahina a bye. June 10: Matahina v Edgecumbe; Thornton v Te Teko; Otakiri a bye. June 17: Te Teko v Matahina; Otakiri v Thornton; Edgecumbe a bye. Juniors May 20: Edgecumbe v Otakiri; Matata v Te Teko A; Te TeliO' B v Thornton. May 27: Otakiri v Thornton; Matata v Edgecumbe; Te Teko A v T'ei Teko B. June 10: Otakiri v Matata; Te Teko i A v Thornton; Edgecumbe v Te Teko B. June 17: Thornton v Edgecumbe; Te Teko A v Otakiri; Matata v Te Teko B.
