WEEK-END BOWLING WHAKATANE CLUB The unsettled state of the weather over the week-end failed to dampen the ardour of the local bowling fraternity and some enjoyable games took place on the Whakatane greens. Details of the play were:—• J. Wilson, J. Bell, Berg and Hellyar 18 beat Breckon, Taylor, Butler and Hay ward 17. H. L. King s Montague Norman, Hollis and McLeod 21 beat Murphy,. Smith, Cantell and Grant 14. Wilkinson, Coates and Francis 26 beat. Allen, E. J. Bell and Caisley 9. Grace, Bigelow and SJiaw 23 beat Dainton, Warner and Harris 21. Smith Stars Mcintosh, McKenzie, Henderson and Littlejolm 19 beat O'Rourke, Shapley, Head and Currah (holders) 15. In the final of the championship pairs Darvill and Loane beat Tippett and Lux ton.
