FLOOD DAMAGE
SUPERPHOSPHATE SUPPLY COMBATING CATEIRPILLAR MENACE The following urgent telegram was forwarded by Mr A- J. Murdoch last Saturday to the Minister of Agriculture:— "As a member of the Dairy Board' for this area,, would respectfully suggest that the unanimous resolution carried at the Bay of Plenty dairy conference yesterday that Government arrange for urgent supply of 50 tons superphosphate to make application of lewt per acre to devastated area, be given your favourable consideration 1 . It ib contended this treatment will have effect of destroying caterpillar on flooded pasture and assist in restoring land to early fertility. Have inspected these areas and' am convinced such assistance is necessary if we h'ope to reach maximum production."
