SOCIETY WRITES HARBOUR

BOARD

Writing the Whakatane Harbour Board last week, Mr J. Creeke, chairman, of the recently re-constituted Whakatane Beautifying Society, thanked the Board for its decision to> co-operate i>n the matter of beautification work at the Heads, by permitting the planting of suitable trees. He added that this Society had decided to leave the matter of planting suitable trees in that area in the hands of Mr G. R; Kent. The chairman, Mr W. R. Boon, sa'id there was plenty of scope for tree planting at the Heads and any work of that nature would become a definite asset.
