L/SGT A. J. TAYLOR

The Ongarue district has lost a fine sportsman in L/Sgt A. J. Taylor, whose wife a daughter of Mr and Mrs A. E. Farnworth of Whakatane, has made her home in this district. Originally reported missing, he was later listed as killed in action. Third son of Mr and 1 Mrs T. Taylor, of Ongarue, he was well known in Tauimarunui where he was educated and played football* for the Athletic Senior team, Originally a Lieutenant i'n the Waikato Regiment he relinquished his commission in order to go overseas. Before the war he was partner in the firm of Taylor and) Sons, Ongarue. The deepest sympathy will be extended to his young wife and little daughter.
