EASTER PARTY
NOVEL REGENT MATINEE
A novel form of Easter Party was held at the Regent Theatre for kiddies on Easter Monday at the screening of "Union Pacific" when an. opportunity was given for those child-
ren who wished to sing over the microphone. Quite a number of budding songsters and swingsters took advantage of this offer, and
he result was that, for a period, the
theatre was haunted with the sweet and melodious strains of aspiring Bing Crosbys and Kate Smiths airing their vocal chords oA r er the ether. When heard through an amplifier, the voice usually sounds much Stronger than when the artist (or artiste) is performing on the stage i-tself SO' there was no difficulty whatsoever in hearing the performers as there usually is at such functions. . Another point which served to make the, afternoon so popular Avas the fact that parents could hear their own children giving a public, performance and many and varied were the expressions on the faces of the adults as' they listened to their offspring's Avarblings.
• Among those kiddies who gave items were: Jean Fowler, Lorr.a Sinclair, Helen Sinclair, Souter Haynes, Anne Butler, Joan Bridger, Teddy Stewart, Trevor Windley, Loraine Gillespie and Gwen Fowler,
