INSTITUTE MEETING

The monthly meeting of the Wai-mana-Nukuhou Women's Institute was held in the Waimana Hall reefently when Mrs Wylde presided over a good attendance and read the Motto for the month. The singing of the. "Ode to Friendship" followed. Mrs Wylde and Mrs H, Wardlaw were elected as delegates to attend the annual Eastern Bay of Plenty Federation meeting to be held in IWhakatane on. April 12. The names of four members Avere recommended for Good Service Badges—Mrs Hewitt, Mrs King, Mrs F. J. Savage and Mrs F. Bell. It was deckled to forward a cake to Pte Pat Watson overseas. It being "Members Day" Mrs Gallagher and Mrs TV Wardlaw then took over the entertainment for the afternoon. A memory test was won by Mrs King, and guessing the number of Crab apples on two branches of the tree was won by Mrs John Addison. A much enjoyed recitation was given by Mrs Stansbury and a humorous reading by Mrs T. Wardlaw. The display of flowers in the competitions were greatly admired by all present. MEETING OF HOUSEHOLDERS The annual meeting of the Waijnana School Committee was held in the school last Wednesday evening. * Mr Robert Ward law was in the chair. The report and balance sheet were taken as read. The election of the new committee followed: Chairman Mr R. Wardlaw; lion, secretary, Mr C. Wyhle; committee, Messrs N. A. Eagle, L. Dueker and J. Boynton.
