BAY OF PLENTY CHAMPIONS MEET
WIN FOR TAURANGA
The weather was all that, coul'd be when champions from the athletic teams of Whakatane, Te Puke, Katikati and Tauranga secondary schools met at the Domain at Tauranga on Thursday, March 30. The many parents and friends who attended the sports were served with afternoon tea. The prefects took charge of a canteen at which were sold pies, soft drinks and applies!.t In view of the .disparity of the Toll numbers, quota points were allotted as follows: Te Puke 60, Katikati SO, Whakatane 15, Tauranga 0. Consequently the competition was very close and the Domain rang with enthusiastic cheers from all sides. !At the end of the day Tauranga had 209*4 points, Whakatane 182*4> Te Puke 156 and Katikati 143.
