AIR LINK RESUMPTION

GISBORNE-PALMERSTON From information received by the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce, there is every likelihood that the Gisborne-Palmerston North air link will be resumed at an early date. This connection will enable Gisborne passengers to fly to Auckland by the roundabout route. The prospects ol' the resumption of the Gis-borne-Opotiki-Tauranga - Auckland link in the near future do not appear very bright and 110 indication can be given as to when this .service might, resume. Arrangements have been made for the release from Government service of a D.H. Bfi I'our-engined machine for the Gisbome-Palmcrston North service and the machine is now undergoing overhaul as a preliminary ,step.
