DANCE AT EDGECUMBE

BLACK GELDING DRAWN WELCOME HOME COMMITTEE ' The dance held at Edgecumbe on Tuesday evening, -which was in the nature of a welcome home to Messrs Con. Sainty, Dick Colebrook and Drivers Savage and Hunt, was a very successful turnout, the floor being filled to -capacity throughout the entire evening. The Gaiety Boys supplied the music, while the position of. Master of Ceremonies was in the capable hands of Mr Jim RusseJl| During the evening, Mr Radcliffe, Chairman of the Farewell and Welcome Home Committee, took the opportunity to extend to the boys a sincere welcome home on behalf, of the people of Edgecumbe. All the returned men replied suitably. The big event of. the; evening was the drawing of the competition for the Black Gelding which has created so much interest over the past few weeks. The lucky winner was Mr S. W. Burs tall, of Edgecumbe. A delightful home-made supper was turned on by the ladies' com-> mittee of the Farewell and Welcome Home Association, while a soft drink and refreshment stall was also well patronised. A Monte Carlo was won by Mr and Mrs Huish.
