At the .same time, it Avas suggested to the Department that supplies of grass seed and fertiliser should immediately be made available for re,sowing of pastures before the season was Loo far advanced. in addition some measure of linanr cial relief was asked by way of subsidy to purchase tlie.se. supplies, also for winter hay fodder. Mr Sullivan, M.P., has also represented the position to the Minister of Agriculture and Lands, but as yet no decision has been reached. It is expected further discussions on the questions will take place., when Mr Sullivan returns to Wellington. The Government has set aside a tonnage of fertiliser for regrassing purposes only, also a quantity' of grass seed has been consigned here. Farmers requiring seed should orderthrough normal increaniile channels, but special forms for fertiliser are required, these may be. obtained' from the. members of Hie committee t's advertised. Prompt attention is nece-sary ' otherwise danger of missing the opportunity is. possible, :
