UNITED v A.T.C.

During the ■week-end the A.T.C. boys met United under hot fultry j conditions. A.T.C. won the toss and sent United in to bat. Spring and Rigden opened, the latter being caught when only 10 on the board. However, Spring and McKenzie cemented a sound, partnership to add 129 runs in 75 minutes. McKen/ie's score, included six 6's and five 4's in a forceful 79. Spring carried on to nctt 59 runs. With, three down for 159 the remaining batsmen to go to the. wicket showed little stroke play and United declared at lunch with 170 on the board, (l,n A.T.C.'s innings the lads were tempted to hit Rigden's "googlies" and they compiled 36 and 31 respectively. Rigden secured 4 for 8 and 8 for 18.
