OPOTIKI SHEEP FAIR
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd. report having held tlveiir first Sheep Fair of the season at Opotiki on Monday, the. 7tli instant, when they submitted an offering of 1 sheep comprising annual drafts from clients in the surrounding districts. The yarding included some particularly good lines of fat and forward wethers lor which there was good competition from Rotorua buyers and also drafts of outstanding 5 year old ewes, for which competition was very keen, the, top price realised 2tts 9(1. being for a line on account of Messrs Rcdpath Bros., W airata Valley.
Owing to the drought conditions prevailing in the Waikato district no buyers were present from that area, but the Te Puke, Rotorua and Whakatane districts were well represented and there was also good enquiry from local farmers.
