Arrangements liad. been made. for a special picnic train from Hastings to Napier, but it was cancelled, when the railway restrictions were brought, into force. Since the announcement regarding the. miners' picnic train Avas made, the Parkvale School Committee has made formal application lor the reinstatement of its picnic special, with a promise to lind the necessary coal. The application has been forwarded to Wellington.
