WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT EDGECUMBE ■ The Kdgecumbe Women's Institute held its February meeting on Tuesday. Mrs Ilodson presided over a good attendance of members. The meeting opened with the singing of the Ode to Friendship and the Aspirations, read, by Mrs Ilodson, who afterwards welcomed members old and new in a very pleasing speech.
Nominations l'or the new committee were, received and Mrs llodson unanimously elected president i'or the third year. A musical parcel competition Mas won by Mrs Burgess. A .box lecture on Home Interior Decoration was given by Miss Le Lievre and was followed with interest by all present and a hearty vote of thanks w.'is accorded. Afternoon tea was: served by Mrs Goldsmith and Mrs Hall. The meeting closed with the National Anthem. Competitions were won as follows: Best (lower, Mrs Cole 1; Mrs Mai pas 2; Mrs Spcirs I}- Aster, Mrs Learning 1; Mrs Flavel 2. Pants from old material, Mrs Malpas 1. Bowl of flowers for efTcct, Mrs Learning 1: Miss Wilson 2; Mrs Malpas 15.
