''New Zealanders suffer from an inferiority complex in' matter relating to music: they must learn to stand on their own feet and have faith in themselves," said Mr Claude Davies, president of the Christehureh branch of the Society of Registered Music Teachers of New Zealand, when he was presiding at a conversazione in Christchureh in honour of visiting members of the society, reports "The Press." He added that he considered that the Broadcasting Corporation's orchestra in Wellington should tour New Zealand periodically, and he urged music teachers to use their influence to foring this about. "The orchestra, " he said, "should give concerts, once or twice a year, npjt only in the principal centres nut an the smaller towns."
