EDGECUMBE DANCE
LOCAL MEN THE GUEST
PRESENTATIONS MADE
The Farewell and Welcome Home dance held at Edgecumbe on Tues-. day night was a great success the dancing space being filled to capacity. Messrs K. Villis" and (i. Horwood, recently discharged from the army were the. guests of the evening. Mr Radcliffe, chairman of the Farewell and Welcome Home Cornmittee, presented the two men with their discharge cheques at the same time wishing them all prosperity and future liapjjiness. The recipients replied suitably, expressing thei>: gratitude to the committee for the dance held in their honour, and also for the very acceptable, presentations made to them.
Several novelty dances were held, and these as usual Ave re very popular Avith the crowd. A Gay Gordons NoAelty was Avon by Mrs Laurie and Mr G. Yates, Avhile the. Monte Carlo Avas also carried off by Mr Yates and partner. An exceedingly popular raffle for a packet of tobacco was won l:y Mr W. Charlie. Music Avas supplied by the Gaiety" Boa's.
