MEN FROM MIDDLE EAST
ARRIVAL TODAY
Advice has been received by His Worship the Mayor that eighteen returned furlough men will! be arriving 1 to-day on leave from the Middle East. The time of their arrival have been given as Edgecumbe 5.15 p.m., Taneatua 6.15 p.m, with no exact time stipulated for Whakatane West. The lists of men returning are as under: — ' Whakatane West M. Black H. W. Chambers P. T. Crystall R. J. Crapp» N. J. Foote A. W. G. Head R. J. Matthews A. N. Nowland H. C. Pearse M. A. Wells Taneatua B. M. Alexander C. Bluett T. Ereatara H. K. Hawera P. Moody
Edgecumbe C. R. Hunt Unspecified H. Lawson (Te Puke) O. P. Fenton (Manawahe) The Mayor requests as many people as possible to meet the train at its various stopping places. Relatives requiring benzine may obtain same from; the local Oil Fuel. Controller on production of the telegram of advice regarding the arriA r al of the man concerned. Those who are unable to obtain transport are. urged ; to advise the Mayor of their position and arrangements will be made for them.
