PICNIC TO WHALE
HOME GUARDERS OUTING
ENGINEERS AND MEDICOS
The happy spirit o£ cameraderdcrie which has always existed between the Engineers and the Medical Corps of the Wliakatanc Home Guard was once more exemplified over the week-end when both units combined to stage a 'break-up' picnic which took the form of an excursion to Whale. Island. The party left early in the morning aboard the Port Wliakatanc and .spent the lirs-t part, of the day in fishing, a pastime, which met with nominal success. Landed later 011 the Island, time. went all. too quickly in general relaxation. exploring and in yarning. From every aspect the day can be described its a liighy successful one, and we understand that plans are already in hand for a repeat outing.
