SHEARING OF SHEEP
• WORLD'S RECORD CLAIMED A now world's record for sheep shearing is> claimed on behalf of Mr Henry Thomas Tuwhangai, aged 47 ; , of Kawhia, who sheared 417 ewes in nine, working hours.' The record, was established on the # farm of Mr H. Robinson, Putaruru, under the supervision of Mr A- R. Vosper,. jj.f. * | previous records were claimed for Mr P. de Malmanche, who sheared 112 sheep in 10 hours in South Tanuuiki in 1933. Before thai the tigure stood at 10G sheep in the same* working period. A good average number for nine hours' shearng is 230 sheep.
