District Scout Camp
The lir.st district Scout camp to be held in the Bay of Plenty takes place this week-end at Rotoxna and continues' on through to the 29th. The camp will bring together approximately B.">i boys embracing the Opotiki, YVaiotahi, Awakeri, Te Puke and the two Wliakatanc troops. It will be under the control of S.M. C. F. Thomas of Wha'ftatane, and; will include an intensive programme; of. Scout activities,, hiking, bush craft, swimming and general training. The weather at present appears to be threatening for heavy rain, if this should eventuate prompt notification will be £ivc.n cancelling the camp, which would be impossible under extreme conditions. The Scouts will use the recreation hall at Jlotoma P.W.D. camp site, as headquarters.
