"'We have made exhaustive enquiries and find thai there is no possibility of securing a new motor truck for this service," said tho Mayor;, Mr B. S. Barry. ""The works committee does not recommend the purchase of a second-hand truck and it is out of the question to secure a new one." Cr Armstrong: *Has the council ever considered the possibility of using a liorse and cart ? The Mayor: That would be too slow. The Borough is far too scattered. Cr Armstrong: I noticed that they used a horse and cart, in Rotorua. Cr -Shapley: We haven't got a suitable cart at any rate. Cr Armstrong: We'd soon build that. On Cr Canning's motion it was decided to reply stating that tlie Council was. holding the. matter constantly in view but couM not secure a suitable vehicle. The.
