THE PRICE OF PORK
AN article in answer to the complaint raised by a district farmer in our last issue anent the marketable price of overweight pigs is answered to-day by the marketing interests, and the whole line of argument goes to illustrate once again the practical value of a local newspaper., as a medium for question and answer and ultimate understanding. There are probably many farmers who will benefit by the points raised by both sides and the outcome must therefore be of a useful nature. The question of the 101b weight tolerance allowed over the limit weight is a concession which is most reasonable and fair and we must confess that at the time of writing our criticism we were not aware of its existence. The broad view of the important subject of pigmarketing and its close relation to winning' the war makes it imperative that there should be no misunderstandings or hidden grievances. We therefore have no apologies to make for having given it the fullest ventillation and join warmly in expressing the hope that many will profit from the controversy.
