MEETING AT EDGECUMBE
The December meeting of the Edgecumbe AVomen's Institute was held oil Tuesday, Mrs Hodson presiding over a good attendance of members., The meeting opened; with tlie Ode. to Friendship and the Aspirations were read by the president. Many expressions of thanks from soldiers overseas for the parcels sent hy the. W.T!. have been received. After the business of the meeting was concluded, the. roll 1 call "School boy howlers" caused much amusement. The remainder of the afternoon was devoted to a children's party and members children were entertained with games and races and a splendid party tea was served, to them. Competitions were won as follows: Sweet Pea, Mrs Spiers 1;. Mrs Righton 2; Mrs A. Russell', Mrs List and Mrs Moody 3. Best Flower Mrs Flavell 1; Mrs Robb 2; Mrs Learning -and Mrs Russell 3. Prettiest oven cloth, Mrs Rountree 1: Mrs Jespersen 2. Afternoon tea was served by the -committee, and the meeting closed ynth the National Anthem*
