Last Meeting of Year Thi" Whakatane County Council holds its last meeting for the year to-day. In accordance with the decision last month, the Decembei meeting lias, been eliminated.

Thefts fi-om Cream Stands The theft of goods irom cream can stands seems to have been more, prevalent than ever lately, Waiotahi residents having lost parcels containing quantities of butter. So bad lias the theft of parcels from cream stands, become, that, some suppliers to the factorj r have had. to make other arrangements for the delivery of their butter especially since rationing was introduced. Newspapers also have a habit of disappearing, and on Tuesday six bridles were- removed from a stand near the W aiotahi bridge.
