EDUCATION TO-DAY
Sir, —The education of the rising generation has been on the. lines of past, history and present-day economies', and. there has been some quite, interesting articles in both the Herald 20/11/43 and Star 10/11/43. There is no doubt that the education of the rising generation is of vital importance to this country provided that the intellect of youth is. trained on humanitarian principles To-day we have an educational system which teaches the budding scholar the art of bcggcring his neighbour, going from simple and compound interest, (usury) to matriculate in higher mathematics. Youth then becomes a pastmaster of scientific robbery, on "orthodox" lines. This is the educational system of to-day. It is also one of- the. present, day plains of the plainers; an organisation through, which the ambitions of able men dominated consciously or unconsciously by the lust for domination may operate to the enslavement of their fellows. Without, the. protection of. more effective safeguards than have been evolved in our present day system; we are left open to the- dictation of the beaucratic intellectual dictator. Whilst a training which would give a broad insight into the fallacy of present-day Economics would act as a safeguard to his conscience (the student) and is to be strongly Urged, as the ideal approach to the new Christian Order of economic freedom and citizenship. Yours etc., W. BRADSHAW.
