TUBERCULOSIS BLOCKS
GOVERNMENT LIABILITY
COUNTY COUNCIL'S OPINION
With very little discussion, the following motiony, proposed by Cr. S. Maxwell, was carried unanimously at the monthly meeting of the Opotiki County Council:— That this council is of the opinion that the Government should buikl T.B. blocks at hospitals out -■of Government money and hospital boards not be liable for any capital charges (for observation or chronic cases); also that the Government accept full responsibility for sanatoria treatment. In answer to a question the chairman (Mr W. A. Gault) said that tuberculosis was very bad in the Opotiki district.
