The whole proposition of, post-war air transport was now exercising the Government's mind and although no decision could be given at the time a lull report would be submitted later. Mr Barry said that lie gathered that a site, near the coast was favoured in view of the coast line acting as a guide to 'planes which could foilow it and then turn in a little and land. On the suggestion of Cr Sullivan it was decided to await the: report o'" the P.W.D. and then to confer with the County Council again, with a view to definite' co-operation one with the other on the establishment of the site suggested as the future aerodrome of Whakatane and district.
