INSTITUTE MEETING WAmiANA-NUKUHOU C. ROU P The Novom])er meeting of the Waimana-Xukuhou Women's Institute was held on Wednesday afternoon in the Waimana Hall. There was a good attendance of. members and Mrs Hewitt presided. The. Institute song was sung and the motto was read by Mrs Hewitt, '"We Serve." The president then welcomed Mrs Stewart of Whakatane, and thanked all who had helped, to make the donee held recently, the success it whs. Mrs H. Ward law gave; the report and balance sheet of the dance. ! A most interesting report was read by Mrs I. Savage on the. Fed'-I oration meeting held, at Taneatua recently. It being International Day, Mrs N. Clark gave another of her most interesting talks on places visited whole, on the W.I I , trip before the war, her talk was on Ceylon. Mrs Stewart, who had given .most interesting demonstrations in the on the making of bread flowers and felt flowers, demonstrated the making of Papier Machc dolls heads, the demonstrations being watched with interest and flower posies being made by most members. Mrs Stewart is to demonstrate glove making on Friday the. 12th, commencing at 10.30 a.m. At the completion of the demonstrations, Mrs Stewart was accorded a hearty vote of thanks, which was carried by acclamation. The day's competitions were:— Girdle scones, Mrs Hewitt 1; Mrs I. Savage 2; Mrs F. Bell 3. Covered coat hanger. Mrs F. Bell 1; M-rs Hewitt 1; Mrs I. Savage 3. Best vegetable, Mrs Stansbury 1; Mrs F. Bejl 2; Mrs Hewitt 3. Best double flowcj?, Mrs Wool field 1; Mrs Tt Savage 2; Mrs Hewitt 3. Best single flower, Mrs T. Wardlan l;Mrs. F. Bell 2; Mrs King 3. Mrs Hewitt thanked the hostesses, judges and Mrs Stewart for their help during the meeting,, and tlui National Anthem closed the afternoon's proceedings.
