BOY SCOUT ACTS

THE public learns with appreciation the work of the local scouts who are assisting the families of those men away on active service. The idea of doing small jobs about the homes of the men who are fighting for the freedom of the world was born of the scout code which dictates that all members shall do at least one good turn a day. This is the spirit which the boys are endeavouring to infuse into their lives. Small in their way their acts of tho.ughtfulness and kindliness are warmly appreciated and their example serves to restore ones confidence in the faith which breeds toleration and neighbourliness, two very human attributes \vhich are urgently needed at the present time.
