Lt has boon decided that the petrol ration tor private motorists during the holiday period "will be. at the full coupon rate. The November ration avi 11 continue at the half-cou-pon rate and accordingly No. will be available at half its i'acc value. During December and January, however. coupons No. (i and 7 at .full face, value will be available. The question of petrol allowances to members of the Armed Forces on final leavfl, furlough,, etc.,, has been reviewed. Members on furlough from service overseas are to receive ten gallons a month for a maximum of three months, and members invalided back and discharged, or members returned for duty in New Zealand are to receive one license for up U> 20 gallons. Members on final leave will receive 10 gallons. An announcement lias also been made to the effect that an extra allowance would be made available for taxis during the Christmas and New Year holidays primarily for meeting trains and ships.
