PETROL REGULATIONS
ILLEGAL USE OF LICENSE MAN AXD WOMAN CHAKGEI> Before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., in. the Whakatanc Court, John Wincti and Dolly Murray were jointly charged with illegally operating on a petrol license issued in the name of a man who was now a member of the Armed Forces. Sergeant Farrell stated that the license had been issued to Mrs Murray's husband before he joined the Army. Wineti had wrongfully drawn .seven gallons by using the license as an authority. Wineti a returned and incapacitated, man from the present war was not in a good position. The Magistrate said lie had certainly been set a problem as lie did not wish to inflict a he.ivy fine in view ol' defendant's handicap. Wineti was tined £2 and the other defendant £1.
