TRAFFIC OFFENDERS

THE NOVEMBER LIST LOCAL PROSECUTIONS Before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M. in the Whakatane Magistrate's Court the following offenders were fined for traffic breaches brought forward by the Transport Departments - Kelly Te Keepa who failed to produce a driver's license when accosted and admitted not having one, was lined f>s and costs 12.15. Messrs, lianiill Bros. (Mr C. A. .Suckling) for permitting the use of an unlicensed trade motor without the. requisite warrant of fitness were lined: £1 and, 10s plus costs 20s. Colin Duncan for failing to procure. a warrant of fitness for his trailei% was lined 5s and costs 12s. Keith Sinclair McKenzie (County prosecution) was charged with operating a heavy vehicle on September 2nd at a speed in excess of 25 miles per hour. Fined £2 and costs 425. Thomas J. Warner for travelling at a speed, in excess of 10 m.p.h., in a light van on September 3rd was fined. £3 and costs 425. The Transport Department also proceeded against, Charles Savage who on September 9th was charged with; driving a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 m.p.h. in the Whakatane J3orough. Fined £2 and costs 225. Defendant was also admitted to the supervision of the Probation Officer until the fine was paid.
