BOBBY CALVES
♦ 1943 SEASON SHOWS INCREASE The total number ol' bobby calves despatched from the Rangitaiki area for the present seoson totals 10.531, an increase on last, year's figures: of. ■1.44. For the month of October alone the number was 22!J3 calves. In passing it is interesting'"to note also that baeoner pigs from Edgecum be this year are approximately three, times as great as for the same period last year. From that station for the month, of October 700 were trucked. The response by farmers to the Government's appeal for more pig-meats is; meeting" with a most heartening response.
