OUR MAORI PROBLEMS
THE ventilation of both sides of tfie question of alleged Maori abuse of Social Security monies, can only have beneficial results, and we welcome all the light on a subjects which has long been the centre of 'underground' controversy. If the allegations are groundless, then we are pleased to have our Maori friends make their own case in rebuttal of the various rumours that have been put about. So far they have done so extremely welL In any case why should we shrink from the truth. There are wasters' as our friends point out in all communities and whether we like it or not they will continue to abuse charity until the crack of doom. But right surely is right and wrong is wrong. We can lose nothing by facing the facts fairly and squarely. Let us do so without fear and the outcome can. only be for the benefit of all concerned.
Gym Dance To-morrow The local Gymnasium Club intends staging its first official dance to-morrow evening. The event should, be widely patronised in view of the splendid aims of the club which caters for the physical development of the. younger members of. the. community.
