Mr Otley for the defence said that he had passed many stationary cars on the way into Whakatane and assumed that the inspector's \xtis another discharging passengers. He had not seen the pedestrian,, nerftlseir had he seen the stop signal. He hatl no notion that he was committing an offence. Fined 10s and costs 10s. „
