LOST AT SEA

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED PRIS-

ONER OF WAR

Private James (Jim) Marshall who enlisted for service in Whakatanc and went overseas with the 3rd Echelon, was reported Prisoner of War in October 1942. The relatives have however now received word that lie. was lost at sea on August 17 when the Prisoners of War were being transferred from Lybia to Italy being among the 72 New Zcaiandcrs who were reported lost at that time. Private Marshall will be remembered. and his loss regretted by many friends in Whakatanc as he was well known in the district. He was employed before the outbreak of war by Air Kerr on Boundary Road.
