SAD DROWNING CASE

DEATH OF MAORI GIRL

Rowena Biddle aged three ycarsv residing with her grand-parents in Landing Road, was the victim of death by drowning, last Friday. The child whose parents are ijx Auckland was left in charge of an elder and was missed from home about. 10.30 a.m. on Friday morning. A scarch was -immediately instituted when the body was discovered floating in a creek at the bad/ ofthe property. Medical assistance was quickly summoned and artificial respiration applied, but all efforts to restore life proved unsuccessful. An inquest was held before Mr G. Brabant. Coroner, and the ease was adjourned .sine die.
