Mr W. L. Mussett, brother of Sgt Ted Mussett, now serving' in the Pacific,, lias after a period of some eighteen months been reported safe as a captive in Japanese hands., Mr Mussett who was on furlough from Singapore some two years ago spent much ol' his time in Whakatane where lie made many friends. His return to the East coincided with the fall of that city and nothing had been heard of him sincc Januaiy 194.1. The news of his safety is received simultaneously to the thousands of similar Australian notifications received recently.
