TO-DAY'S PRAYERFUL COMMEMORATION

ONCE again at the instigation of His Majesty the King the Empire has been called to prayer on the Fourth Anniversary of the declaration of war, which falls to-day. Whakatane's observance will take the form of a short combined service in the Grand Theatre at 12.45 p.m. The clergy of the Anglican, Methodist and Presbyterian Churches will participate and businessmen at the request of His Worship the Mayor are asked to make the time available to their employees. We have no doubt but that this will be done and that Whakatane will repeat the same dignified and reverent observance which characterised the service a year ago.
