At the meeting of. the Whakatane* County Council Captain Brebner re-» ported that Lieut. George hacl ad-*, vised. him recently that, the propas-4 ed Whakatane-Opotiki State High- 4 way would go through tlie Hillcrcatl Cemetery. So far as Lieut. George* knew the centre-line proclamation had not been" gazetted. Captaiisi Brebner stated however, that lie* would be able to undertake the vey of some cemetery p ot se"_"ti'->n& within the fortnight. Discussing the matter members c£ the council were of U.iQ opinicm that work should proceed. i n view of the» fact, that the Borough Council had. intimated that it \vquUl be requiring the ground fpr internments within, six weeks.
