The total rain measurement for August recorded at Edgccumbe was 6.0-4 inches, against 10.44 inches for the same month la.st year. The heaviest fall occurred on the 2nd with 2.16 inches and rain fell on 12 days. The incliage for the past eight months of the present year is 30.54 inches against 32.29 inches for the same period last year. Speeding, at Ed'gecumbe At the last meeting of the Wliakatane County Council and on Cr Hunter's motion it was resolved that Traffic inspectors Deive.s and Carling take action to stop the speeding on Station Road, Edgecumbe,, and that representations be made to the Commissioner of Transport for the imposition of the 30 m.p.h. speed limit Edgecumbe township.
