A FINE ACHIEVEMENT
AN article published to-day shows the comparative figures raised by the various postal centres throughout the Thames postal area, in the recently concluded Third Liberty War Loan. A glance shows that Whakatane by coming third on the list (beaten only by Tauranga and Thames) made a very worthy and gratifying achievement. In both instances above-quoted the towns concerned carried double the local population figures, while it is also noteworthy to' read that our town was substantially ahead of other centres of greater population in Waihi, Te Aroha and Paeroa.
