DISCUSSION AT W.I. CONFERENCE There were 4(i() delegates present at a conference of North Island Women's Institutes at Gisborne last ■week. One remit urged Institute members to work i'or the upliftment of the morals of the young people, and to endeavour to make the country clean. Co-operation Avith the Education Department in making good, citizens Avas urged by a remit from Patca, and a North Taranaki remit urged a higher standard ol' educational and cultural iilms. Post-war problems formed an important part of the discussions,, and Maori welfare received much attention.
