WE can say with certainty that no controversy has featured more in these columns over the past four years than that pertaining to Kirkbride's Road, Waimana. For that reason we note with pleasure the finality of the whole question by the only remaining course —legislation. Those who were present will have to admit the fairness and careful thought with which each point was dealt with. The settling of the point in mind however —whether or not any person or local body is permitted to place any obstruction whatsoever across a dedicated roiadway—is the main issue and now that it has been definitely proved that no such right exists we sincerely hope all parties will be satisfied and that this long standing difference together with its less desirable offshoots will come to an end.
